#cambodia #thai-cambodia-war #hate-speech #thailand #propaganda-tactics

**Analysis of “War of Warriors” by G-Devith (2025)**

**Lyrics and Themes**: “War of Warriors,” produced and written by G-Devith, is a nationalistic song accusing the “Thai race” of stealing Khmer land, culture, and heritage (e.g., “The word for ‘thief’ becomes the word for ‘Thai’”). It references historical disputes like Preah Vihear and invokes divine curses against Thais, using terms like “barbaric” and “contemptible.” This dehumanizing language and stereotyping align with hate speech definitions, while the rally for Khmer pride and sovereignty fits propaganda’s aim to unify through a divisive narrative.

**Context**: Released on August 14, 2025, amid Cambodia’s tourism boom (1.02M visitors in 2024) and reported Thai-Cambodian diplomatic tensions, the song taps into historical grievances. Its anti-Thai rhetoric risks straining ASEAN ties and alienating tourists. G-Devith’s 1.3M YouTube subscribers amplify its reach, but its presence on YouTube suggests it hasn’t been flagged for hate speech yet.

**Intent**: The song aims to evoke Khmer pride and address grievances, targeting Cambodian audiences and possibly the diaspora via English subtitles. Its provocative tone suggests an intent to stoke nationalist fervor, though not explicitly inciting violence.

**Delivery and Reception**: The visualizer video likely uses Khmer imagery to reinforce its militant tone. No reception data is available, but the inflammatory lyrics risk polarizing Thai audiences.

**Conclusion**: “War of Warriors” contains propaganda by promoting Khmer nationalism and hate speech by vilifying Thais as a group. Its 2025 release heightens its potential to escalate tensions.

This song is very disturbing and appears to be a calculated piece of propaganda/hate-speech designed to stir up enmity between Thailand and Cambodia. It's especially disturbing that the song was put out out by a well known entertainment figure in Cambodia with millions of followers. This is how war is fomented. I suspect a psyop is in play here, possibly with the involvement of foreign intelligence services.

Every day, there is news that Thai fortress officials with lesser power are stepping on landmines and losing their legs every day...

They are sacrificing innocent young men. The use of landmines is considered criminal in international law. The mined areas should be cordoned and only bomb disposal robots allowed in. No soldier should be forced to risk his life entering these zones

I agree with you 100% and I think that to allay the doubts of many people that this is a further escalation of the situation, Thailand should stop sending soldiers to have their legs amputated every day. It's very dangerous, “NO” 🤡🤪
