Aunque "Chuncho" se grabó en 1953, recién se filmó esta escena en 1958 con la película "Música de siempre", protagonizada por Édith Piaf, Amália Rodrigues, Libertad Lamarque, Yma Súmac y demás. "Chuncho" que en quechua significa "Plumaje", transmite de manera sonora, explícitamente por las cuerdas vocales de la princesa inca, la experiencia y vivencia, inclusive paranormal, de la naturaleza amazónica y andina del Perú, desde los rugidos de un jaguar, pasando por el trinos de las aves y el sonido del viento contra las plantas, hasta la presencia de espíritus. "Chuncho", lanzado en su tercer álbum de estudio "Inca Taqui" (Canción inca en quechua) de 1953, donde logró desarrollar la "doble voz" o "triple coloratura", la misma que se asemeja al auténtico canto de los pájaros. La cantante peruana consideró este tema como el más "completo" de su discografía. Es nombrada como la "Madre del género Experimental". Here's a gift from the Official Yma Sumac Archives to all Sumac fans. Today we celebrate Yma Sumac's 101st birthday and decided to share this beautiful clip of Sumac singing Virgin Of The Sun God in the Mexican film Las Canciones Unidas, released in 1960. This is the first time this clip has been shown in high definition and comes directly from Sumac's own vintage 16mm color film. That year, alongside 1,558 other Hollywood personalities, Yma Sumac received her Star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She became the first Peruvian-born artist to receive the honor until fellow Peruvian Pepe Barreto was honored with a star in 2007. Several Latin artists received stars simultaneously, therefore it is impossible to say who was the first Latin artist to receive a star. Also in 1960, she started her now legendary tour of the Soviet Union.
