"we don't have much time" - says the gender-fluid person with flowing blonde hair.
A."I". is far from smart.
I mean, there are probably better programs than others but using Meta's AI, which I think is Llama, I thought asking it a mathematical question would give me a correct answer with ease, but was very wrong.
It gets worse:
Knowing full well the program would not be able to answer a more complex question, I later asked it about the new AFL Grand Final Series.
The correct answer is 39 because of the two elimination rounds:
I think this person's clear uncertainty of his/her sexual identity has some relevance to the problem.
I do think tha Jeffrey Ladish had some interesting points, but I see some weakness in his reasoning, using words like "smart" as if that has a clearly defined meaning. AI is a language model. They use the term LLM (Large Language Model) for a reason. LLMs manipulate language. LLMs appear to be "smart" because they respond in ways that are convincing in many contexts.
Can can you seriosly call a disembodied computer program "smart" other than as gimmick, like "smart phone"?
Can you define "smartness" other than in a gimmicky way?
There is a lack of relflection in people like Jeffrey Ladish (and many others) which is more worrying than the tech itself.
There is a lack of philosophical persepective in these people (including Elon Musk). This is the most worrying thing to me.
