I'm been seeing a whole bunch of stories like this coming out of the UK. The leaders are putting out these cryptic warnings again and again. They refuse to spell out exactly what the threat is or why it exists. There is a vague sense that they are talking about Russia, or maybe Iran, but they leave it to media hacks to spin that out.
The warnings are delivered in such a way that they easily move the goal posts later.
Nobody knows if the coming catastrophe is nuclear war or maybe just a bad storm - and that's exactly they way they want it.
In the 50s the school children of America were taught to "duck and cover" if they saw the bright flash.
In 2001 after 9/11 Aussies were given TV commericals hinting at vague threats and told to be "alert but not alarmed".
And let's never forget the hysterical, apocalyptic and utterly vile news headlines during the early days of covid.
This is all part of the same pattern. It's nothing more nor less than the malignant narcissism of the toxic power elite.
