I've looked at the evidence so far presented for election fraud using the Dominion voting machines, which is crucially important for the future of democracy around the world. At this point I broadly agree with Tucker Carslon's assessment of the publicly available evidence as of 20 November 2020, and I can't fault his rather harsh assessment of Sidney Powell. Tucker received alot of heat for appearing to break from the Trump camp, but it would have been potential career suicide for him if he had swallowed this bait.

This may seem like an exaggeration, but it is not. Dan Rather, who was also an immensely popular TV anchor, ended his career when he rashly backed what turned out to be provably false claims about George Bush's military record, in what came to be known as "RatherGate". 

This press statement released on 22 November confirms the suspicion that Powell may have been leading the Trump team into an ambush.

Sidney Powell is practicing law on her own. She is not a member of the Trump Legal Team. She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity.

At 5:17 in the interview the legal rep makes the following rather amazing claim:

In the 14 counties in Pennsylvania where Dominion voting systems machines are used, the President won 52% of the vote.

If the above is true then Dominion software fraud is clearly ruled out in Pennsylvania. It also would suggest that Sidney Powell is either mentally unhinged or a disinformation operative seeking to discredit Trump's team by introducing a completely false, red herring argument into the legal case. When you consider that Powell is backing the conjecture that the voting was halted in Pennsylvannia to allow the Dominion team to tweak the vote count, it appears we are delving into cloud cuckoo land.

If the statements by the Dominion rep aren't refuted, it is game over for Sidney Powell, and extremely damaging to Trump's legal case too, notwithstanding the last minute attempt at damage control.

The only evidence Sidney Powell has provided to the public is the sworn affidavit of a Venezuelan ex-military man in relation to the Venezuelan election. Tucker was right to thow this out. It is not evidence which has a direct bearing on the 2020 US election. I know many will argue that it is relevant - and I agree it's relevant as background, but it is irrelevant as direct evidence in this case and the only thing which really matters in the Supreme Court is direct evidence. 

The affidavit does not shy away from making extreme allegations about the US  election, such as the following:

I am alarmed because of what is occurring in plain sight during this 2020 election for President of the United States. The circumstances and events are eerily reminiscent of what happened with Smartmatic software electronically changing votes in the 2013 presidential election in Venezuela. What happened in the United States was that the vote counting was abruptly stopped in five states using Dominion software. At the time that vote counting was stopped, Donald Trump was significantly ahead in the votes. Then during the wee hours of the morning, when there was no voting occurring and the vote count reporting was off-line, something significantly changed. When the vote reporting resumed the very next morning there was a very pronounced change in voting in favor of the opposing candidate, Joe Biden.

What would have been the point in stopping the voting in Pennsylvannia if the counties which had Dominion voting systems ended up going to Trump anyway? It is absurd.

In summary, Tucker is not arguing that the elections were fair, or that fraud did not occur, he is simply doing his job as a real journalist in filtering noise from information. If he had given Powell the floor on his show, only to have her waffle about Venezuela it would ultimately have been a disservice to journalism and the pursuit of truth. I'm glad he didn't do that.
